Harry Potter Week: October 31-November 4
All activities will be during blue block and require registration.
YOU MUST REGISTER TO PARTICIPATE! PLEASE READ ALL ACTIVITIES AND INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU REGISTER!
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON OCTOBER 24TH THROUGH OCTOBER 28TH
YOU CAN ONLY PARTICIPATE IN ONE ACTIVITY EACH DAY.
PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP FOR AN ACTIVITY ONE TIME. FOR EXAMPLE, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR WAND MAKING EVERYDAY. THIS BLOCKS SPACES FOR OTHER STUDENTS.

Students who are not listed on the registration list for activities, will be sent back to class. Please be sure to check your email for your activity schedule.
Activities Include: Costume Contest (Oct. 31), Wand Making, Puzzle Table, Harry Potter Craft Table, Dragon Eggs, Coloring Table, Escape Room, Scavenger Hunts, Potions Class, Slime Potions, Harry Potter Trivia and Lord of the Rings Trivia.
Also available to those who register: Face Painting and Photo Booth.
Activities BEFORE the week begins: Harry Potter House Sorting and UCHS Owlery. Links can be found below in descriptions.
During Harry Potter Week, The Thinking Cup will only be open during blue block and 4th period.
The Thinking Cup will feature Harry Potter themed drinks, baked goods and gifts.
House Points
House points will be offered each day. In order to receive house points, pick up a card at the door that represents your house. You will need to fill out your card and have it initialed by the book club member working the activity. Turn in the card on your way out of the library. Four lucky winners, one from each house, will be entered into a drawing for a prize each day. For bragging rights, house points will be totaled each day. The House Cup winner will be announced at the end of the week! May the best house win!

Harry Potter Week activities will be directed and managed by UCHS Book Club Members. If you have any questions see a member of book club or Ms. Keesecker.
Pre Harry Potter Week Activities
UCHS Owlery: During Harry Potter week, the library will be displaying book owls created by UCHS students. Students who create a book owl will be entered into a drawing for a prize. Materials provided for the book owl include: paperback book and instructions. If you would like to make a book owl, please complete the form below. Please complete this form no later than Thursday, October 27th. Your owl craft package will be delivered to you during blue block/homeroom. You may return your completed owls to the library between Thursday, Oct. 20th and Monday, October 31st. Owls will not be accepted after October 31st.
Four lucky winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 2nd.

Harry Potter House Sorting: What’s your Hogwarts House? Complete the Google Form and receive a FREE Harry Potter House Button! Buttons will be delivered to your blue block/homeroom during the week of October 24-28. We will deliver buttons while supplies last. Please complete this form no later than Thursday Oct. 27th.

Harry Potter Week Activities
Harry Potter Character Day: Dress up as your favorite Harry Potter character on Monday, October 31st! Enter the costume contest to win a prize! Open to all students, no registration needed.
Puzzle Table: Work challenging Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings themed puzzles. Students working on the puzzle will do so as a team by working on the same puzzle. Registration is required and limited to 6 students.
Coloring Table: Includes coloring sheets for Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and more plus crossword puzzles, word searches and more. The table will also include a Harry Potter themed "Would You Rather?” Registration is required and limited to 4 students. Registration is required and limited to 4 students.
Wand Making Tables: Make a wand! All the materials and supplies to make your own wand will be provided for you. Registration is required and limited to 24 students.
Craft Table: Create your own bookmarks and more. Choose from Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and more! All supplies will be provided for you. Registration is required and limited to 6 students per day. Registration is required and limited to 6 students.
Dragon Eggs: Create your own dragon egg! Dragon eggs will be created using Styrofoam eggs, paint, plastic jewels and hot glue. Registration is limited to 6 students.
Scavenger Hunts: Three Scavenger hunts will be available: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Shadow and Bone. Prizes will be given to those who solve the hunt. If time allows, you can complete more than one hunt. Registration is required and limited to 9 students. Maximum of 3 students per hunt. Choose your hunt when you arrive.
Potions Class: Welcome to Potions class with Mrs. Paula Edwards in room 2029.
We will be concocting Magic Mud, Wormwood-Comes-to-Life, Liquid Enemies, Exploding Filibusters, Dancing Unicorn Milk, Exploding Elixir, Fleeing Spiders and Mandrake Restorative Draught Potions. Registration is required and limited to 15 students. Potions will be offered Oct. 31, Nov. 1, and Nov. 2
Slime Potions: Hosted by Mrs. McKinney featuring Felix Felicis, Draught of Peace, Skele-Gro, Veritaserum, Polyjuice, or Wolfsbane. These special potions will take the entire class period to brew.
These special advanced potions are especially alluring because you will be able to take them home with you. See you in class! Registration is required and limited to 10 students. Slime Potions will be offered on Tuesday, October 26th and Thursday, October 28th.
Harry Potter Trivia: Are you a Potterhead? Find out how much you know with a game of Kahoot Harry Potter Trivia. Hosted by Mrs. McKinney in room 1006. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Two days only: Monday, Oct 31st and Wednesday, November 2nd. Registration is required and limited to 15 students.
NEW! Lord of the Rings Trivia: How well do you know Middle Earth? Find out how much you know with a game of Kahoot Lord of the Rings trivia. Hosted by Ms. Amy Edwards in room 1012. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Two days only: Two days only: Tuesday, November 1 and Thursday November 3 Registration is required and limited to 15 students.
NEW! Divination Class: Hosted by Ms. James in room 1008. Divination is all about focusing on ways to foresee the future. In this class we will read tea leaves to see what our futures look like. What will your tea leaves predict? Two days only: Tuesday, November 1 and Wednesday, November 2. Registration is required and limited to 6 students.
Escape Room: A collaboration between Mr. Roller and Mr. Marsh, the Among Us themed escape room will be a challenge for all! Who is the traitor among us? Registration is required and limited to 6 students.
Face Painting: Pay homage to your book series by getting your face painted! Only open to those students who have registered for another activity.
Photo Booth: We will have props available to use for selfies during the week.
Harry Potter Week Bake Sale: Open to all students during blue block and 4th period. Baked goods and drinks will be available at The Thinking Cup. Great baked goods will be for sale such as butterbeer flavored iced and hot coffee, chocolate frogs, cupcakes, butterbeer cookies and more! (Prices range from $1.00-$5.00)
Harry Potter Week Store: The store will be open as part of The Thinking Cup. The store will be open during blue block and 4th period. Items include vinyl decals, zipper pouches, Christmas ornaments, and tote bags and much more from all your favorite book series. Prices range from $2.00-$20.
HOUSE CUP POINTS
House points will be offered each day. In order to receive house points, pick up a card at the door that represents your house. You will need to fill out your card and have it signed by the book club member working the activity. Turn in the card on your way out of the library.
